Positive step forward for Arawhata stream and Lake Horowhenua
This month the Ministry of the Environment announced Land Purchased Under the Jobs for Nature: Lake Horowhenua Wetland Complex. We have attached the Ministry for the Environment press release from May 27 attached below and attached a map of the area.
We, at WECA are very excited, if implemented well, this is perhaps a ‘once in a lifetime opportunity’ that could kick start a managed transition towards recovering our Horowhenua catchment lakes and streams.
Well done to everyone who was involved in getting this off the ground.
